We keep an
I on IT. Technology solutions for the future.

More than two decades building, operating, and now steering the systems that power modern operations. From the first managed network closet to the agent-to-agent economy of 2026. Next-Gen-IT has been there the whole way, quietly. Four agents orbit; the eye watches.

/01 — Who we are

No offices.
Three places we live & build.

Next-Gen-IT is an independent technology practice led by a German founder. We don’t run a campus, we run projects, from the cities we actually live and work in.

From the server room
to the agent economy.

Twenty-two years of staying ahead of the curve without making a fuss about it. Every milestone below is a system we built, ran, or are running right now.

2004

Next-Gen-IT begins

The practice opens as an independent managed-services shop. First contract: managed IT & helpdesk for a regional manufacturer.

Server virtualization practice

We migrate our first client estate to virtualized server infrastructure. Hardware budgets fall by 60% overnight. The practice quickly becomes our largest line of business.

Santa Fe project base

A desert studio in Santa Fe becomes the base for long-form infrastructure design and 24/7 ops work for clients across the Mountain West.

Cloud migration services

AWS goes mainstream and so do we. Next-Gen-IT runs its first full client migration from on-prem to public cloud. Hybrid becomes a permanent fixture of the portfolio.

Cybersecurity & SOC practice

Managed detection & response stands up alongside the NOC. The two teams share a queue from day one — a pattern that returns a decade later in ACP’s event stream.

San Francisco enters the picture

Platform-engineering work moves to the West Coast. Focus: automation, DevOps, and the early plumbing for what would become our agent-orchestration work.

Multi-cloud & SRE

Clients run on AWS, Azure and GCP — sometimes all three. We formalize an SRE practice and build the first internal tooling for cross-cloud cost & reliability.

Stuttgart — EU base

The German side of the practice takes shape in Stuttgart — industrial and Mittelstand clients across the DACH region, on-site engineering, EU-resident managed services.

AI & ML engineering practice

A dedicated team begins shipping production ML for clients, starting with anomaly detection on the same telemetry streams our SOC was already watching.

Learning Apps land on the marketplace

The first free Learning Apps ship through the Basys marketplace, a deliberate seed for the Education Academy that follows. What schools don’t teach about modern operations, agents and the economy of work, anyone can pick up here.

Basys Analytics spins off — San Francisco

Next-Gen-IT spins off a wholly-owned subsidiary, Basys Analytics, founded in San Francisco. Its remit a marketplace and capability layer for the agent economy. Same crew, same governance discipline, new product surface.

Agent Control Panel — A2A economy

ACP enters internal pilot: a human-governed coordination layer for connected systems. The agent-to-agent economy stops being a slide and becomes an operational nervous system.

What schools
don’t teach.

Education is not a side-quest for us. It’s how we make the agent-to-agent economy something everyone can participate in, not just the ten companies who can afford to.

Free Learning Apps
on the marketplace.

A growing library of free, interactive Learning Apps ships through the Basys marketplace today. Hands-on, no signup gates, no upsell  covering the things modern curricula still don’t: agents, audit trails, settlement, operational governance, the actual mechanics of an A2A economy.

Education Academy.

The Academy follows the Learning Apps: structured tracks, mentor office hours, certificates that mean something to a hiring manager. Next-Gen-IT sponsors seats so cost is never the reason someone gets left behind by the next economy.

  • 01 Free tier for students, retraining adults, public-sector staff
  • 02 Sponsor-a-seat program funded by Basys marketplace revenue
  • 03 Curriculum co-built with the engineers running the systems
  • 04 Open badges & portfolio projects — verifiable, exportable
See the education roadmap
Our pledge

Every percentage point of marketplace growth funds another seat in the Academy. The agent economy can’t be built by the few, it has to be learnable by anyone with the curiosity to show up.

In their words.

A few of the operators we work with on what it’s like to run a practice alongside ours.

They run the parts of our infrastructure we forgot we had. Patches happen, audits pass, and we stop being woken up at 3 a.m.

JR J. ReberCTO, Industrial Mittelstand AG · DACH

The Academy seats they sponsor showed up on my hiring pipeline before any traditional channel did. That’s rare.

/05 — Subsidiary

Basys Analytics.
Our product arm.

Spun off 2025 in San Francisco as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Next-Gen-IT, Basys Analytics builds the operational coordination layer for the agent-to-agent economy: A marketplace, a SkillLayer, a settlement rail, and a human-governed control center also auditing compliance

/06 — FAQ

Common questions.

Quick answers about how we work, what we build, and how the Academy fits in.

Are you really independent?

Yes. Next-Gen-IT is privately held, German-led, and owns Basys Analytics as a wholly-owned subsidiary. No outside capital, no obligation to ship features we don’t believe in.

What kind of engagements do you take?

Long-running managed-services contracts, infrastructure modernisation projects, and ACP pilots. We don’t do one-off tickets, body-shop staffing, or “AI strategy” slide decks.

Where do you operate?

Engineering happens between Stuttgart, Santa Fe, and San Francisco. Clients are global; on-site work is most common across the DACH region and the western US.

How does the Academy actually work?

Free Learning Apps ship through the Basys marketplace today. The Academy itself — structured tracks, mentor office hours, sponsored seats funded by marketplace revenue — is being rolled out. See the education roadmap.

Do you take on agent / A2A pilots?

Yes — ACP is in internal pilot now. Allowlisted partners can request access; the rest is open via the marketplace as we harden the workspace.
